The latest release from Utility Player on Rednetic is a brand-new collection of tracks. An evolution of the style heard previously on Chroma Phase, Zandvoort and Convulex.

The title “Autostrada” may lead you to believe that this album is carrying the spirit of a particular German electronic pioneer filtered through an Italian sensibility. However, a specific Manchester guitar band that was heavily influenced by the German metronomic rhythms and became New Order would be closer to the truth.

This combination of independent bands' song structures and the electronic equipment of the time, and an open-minded, experimental attitude of the late 80s and early 90s helped shape this album, with bands such as Primal Scream being refreshed and remoulded by Andrew Weatherall to Spooky Versus Chapterhouse with “We Are Beautiful” — a fusion of ideas, structure and sounds.
