From December 2018 - May 2019 Joseph Auer conducted field recordings in the London Docklands area and Southwestern Malaysia, including Kuala Lumpur. The Malaysian recordings centred around the sprawling KLM (Kuala Lumpur Metro) and the Muar-Batu Pehat strip, spanning both pre-Ramadan and Ramadan periods.

The release explores the tension between authentic sonic document and fabricated imaginary soundscape — field recordings incorporated into compositional structures to convey a uniquely modern urban Malay environment from the viewpoint of an occidental traveller.
